I used to think I was pretty stable, not mountain top highs and valley lows, but that since has been proven wrong. I am amazed at how old and crotchety I can get when youth are irresponsible, like last week our key guitar players missing a youth worship practice, with no reason or warning. When discussing it with one of them tonight on MSN, and asking if he will be there tomorrow, at our youth worship service, (a key thing for our youth worship team), he responded "we are leading? leading in what?" and "is tomorrow Friday already?"

It made me briefly think about moving onto College and Career Ministry until I picked up my phone to hear the voice of another Gr. 11 student who is asking how early she can come to practice for tomorrow night. She also informed me that she convinced her boss not to give her any more Friday shifts, so that she has nothing in conflict with her commitment to the youth worship team.

Wow, what a difference. I have decided to focus on the positives, and pour into those ready for leadership and growth. The other side of that is what though? Do I just leave the other kids behind, or fight with them for commitment and responsibility? Hmmm.

For now, though, I sit encouraged. Thankyou to that student who really sees value in commitment. And you should be encouraged...if I can write a second blog finally, you can accomplish almost anything, I am sure
